Mini Office Tour

1

In my last apartment, I didn’t really have a desk/office set up, and decided to make one in my new place. I’ve already used it a bunch and it makes me so happy to sit at my desk and blog, study, Pinterest, etc.

I thought it would be fun to show you a little “tour” of my mini office space.

overview

It’s a super small space right next to my bed, but it has been working really well for what I use it for. The “desk” is actually  what I had been using as a nightstand, but it was a little big for that purpose and usually ended up just getting junked up.

I got the table at Marshall’s last year for about $50, and I’m sure you could still find something similar (and probably for cheaper).

The chair was a Hobby Lobby find, and with a coupon I only paid around $35 for it! I thought that was a steal.

buckets

I bought these copper-colored buckets from the Target dollar spot a while back and didn’t really have a good purpose for them. I love the look of them hanging next to my desk; they create a more “office-y” feel and provide some storage. The calendar in the middle was a gift from a friend, and I’m obsessed with the gold foil and watercolor.

lamp

The lamp is from Ikea and was pretty cheap. I loved the brass base, and the minimalist design. I chose a plain light gray lampshade to go with it.

picture

This picture was another Hobby Lobby find, and I think it’s just the prettiest thing ever. I thought it was the perfect inspirational quote for my “office” space and it brings a little extra girliness.

pencil cup

This is one of the most recent additions, a gold pencil cup from Target. I wanted a pretty way to store pencils and this fit the bill. I love that it is more “open-concept” so it seems less bulky/doesn’t take up as much visual space. And I have a MAJOR weakness for cute pencils. Run, don’t walk, to the dollar spot to pick up some of these pastel beauties.

desk closeup

Here’s another overview of the tabletop. The extras you see are a pretty ring dish from my sister that says “Mr. and Mrs.”, a vanilla bean candle from Bath & Body Works (SO GOOD), a mini polaroid picture frame Jake got me when we visited DC, and an orchid plant Jake got me recently (that I’m kinda keeping alive). Oh, also I have a pretty colorful placemat that was one of those “I just need it” moments at Target a few months ago laying on my desk. I love the brightness and fun it brings to the equation. Also shown is my MacBook Air which is my most favorite computer ever.

As you can tell, I shop mostly at Target, Hobby Lobby, and places like Marshalls and TJ Maxx for home stuff. The dollar spot is my jam.

I hope you enjoyed my little office tour! I love pretty spaces and am so happy with the way my space turned out. Feel free to “pin” the image below so you can come back later for inspiration. 🙂

Mini Office Tour

Have a great day! I’m going to be spending a lot of time in my little office nook today studying for a test.
