Friday Favorites #20

ff 20

I survived another week of grad school! Yay! I saw my very first speech therapy client ever and I lived to tell the tale. (Except I can’t, because HIPAA) 😉

I’m also home for the weekend!! I decided to go back to my hometown for the long holiday weekend and am so excited to visit with family and relax. After 2 stressful weeks of school, I’m feeling the need to unwind a bit in my small town.

Now onto some goodies to share with you guys for F.F.!

Friday Favorites

  • PB-Banana-Rice Cake snack

I’ve been loving this as a snack or breakfast this week. It’s so quick, tasty, and filling! How-to: take a rice cake, spread about 1 tablespoon of peanut butter on top, and slice up a banana to put on top. Yum!

  • Fall is (almost) here!

I’m just so excited that we are finally into the month of September! Fall is THE BEST. Bring on the pumpkin-flavored everything, tall boots, and sweaters. Oh and the crisp, cool weather, fall festivals, pre-holiday season….I could really go on and on professing my love for fall. YAY FALL!

  • Gailey’s Stuffed Oatmeal

One of Springfield’s best (in my & a whole lot of other people’s opinion) breakfast places is Gailey’s downtown. They’re pretty much a classic breakfast spot, with lots of yummy options to choose from. One of my favorite things to get is the stuffed oatmeal, which has tons of banana, walnuts, and a side of milk and brown sugar. (In the cutest tiny little pitchers…miniature things make me happy.) It also comes with toast! Jake and I had a breakfast date there last weekend and enjoyed every minute/bite. (He got the eggs benedict, which he said was really good!)

I completed this superset workout this week after a jog and oh boy were my arms/shoulders sore the next day(s)! When I look for weights workouts, I like to keep it simple and easy to follow so I don’t look like too much of a newb at the gym. (‘Cause let’s be real, nobody wants to be staring at their phone with a look of confusion while trying to figure out how in the world the trainer got her arm from one position to the next in .5 seconds…Not that that’s ever happened to me or anything…) Anyway, this is a fun (?) workout that you should try!

Okay, I’m gonna go hang out with my fam! Have a fun and safe holiday weekend!!
