Friday Favorites #12

With my luck, I somehow caught a cold this week. In July. Full on sore throat, runny nose, the works.

I’m starting to feel a bit better now, though, and lucked out by having a minimal-plans weekend to rest and get totally better by Monday!

I started my new class this week, and am already loving having only one morning class. It leaves so much time for summer fun (aka errands + Netflix)!

Onto the favorites…

Friday Favorites

  • Black T-Shirt Dress:

Jake and I went to get coffee this morning and I pulled out a really old, simple black t-shirt dress to wear. I paired it with my gold slides and some 2nd-day hair. Sometimes simple is best. (Also, this pic is only a little over-exposed. I really am almost that pale in July.)

  • Watermelon Lemonade Candle:

Lately I’ve been burning this candle from Bath & Body Works and I love the summery fragrance it puts off. I don’t really smell the lemonade part, but the watermelon scent has the perfect amount of sweetness.

  • Mini Meatloafs:

Totally forgot to take a pic (sorry!), but I made some mini meatloafs in a muffin pan this week, and they never disappoint. I usually just kind of wing it with an unmeasured combination of ground meat, egg, oats, milk, diced onion, and seasoning, and they always turn out great! Then I mix together another unmeasured combination of ketchup, mustard, and brown sugar to make a sauce. I cooked them this time for about 45 minutes at 350 degrees. I like to make them in a muffin pan to speed up the cooking time a bit and because everything mini is cute.

While Jake was on a run yesterday I decided to surprise him with some home-baked goodies. I knew we were out of butter, so I searched “no butter cookies” in Pinterest, and quickly landed on this recipe by Half Baked Harvest for “Healthy Dark Chocolate Chunk Oatmeal Cookie Bars (Idiot Proof)”. (I really gravitated toward the picture and the “idiot proof” thing.) I only had about a 1/4 cup chocolate chips, and no vanilla extract, but these still turned out so yummy! They are really easy to make, don’t have a ton of ingredients, and stayed moist. Win-win-win in my book.

I’m looking forward to spending the rest of the day relaxing, sipping on an iced latte, and maybe packing a little bit.

Do you have a favorite candle I need to try?
