Treadmill Workout+ Friday Favorites-23

Boy oh boy was it a school-filled week! I had midterms this week (only two weeks in…oh the joys of 4-week classes!). At some points I felt like my sole purpose in life was to study! I’m sure if I look back at this post in a few months (when real school starts) I’ll laugh at how truly un-busy I am right now.

Anyway, I am so happy it’s the weekend now! Jake headed home for the weekend, and I have plans to clean, do laundry, and basically play catch-up here at home. (I know, I have a ┬áreally exciting life.)

Now’s the part where I let you know some of the things I’ve been loving this week. Keep reading to get a peek inside my brain…


Friday Favorites

  1. Getting up early:┬áThis is kind of a random one, and even though I don’t always love waking up at 6:30, to get ready for class, I do like taking advantage of the whole day, which I feel like is more possible when I wake up earlier.
  2. Druff’s: We checked out this new restaurant in downtown Springfield, and it was so good! They specialize in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches. I had the quinoa salad, which was so so good, and Jake had one of the sandwiches that he reported was really tasty too. The atmosphere is awesome, too. If you’re ever in Springfield, Missouri, I’d definitely recommend Druff’s!IMG_8022IMG_8021
  3. Pineapple Whip: Ahhh, a Springfield classic. I’ve been lovin’ on some p-whip this summer. It’s such a unique, fruity, fresh, sweet frozen dessert. Another must-taste if you’re in Springfield. We actually had it for dessert after Druff’s, but I also had it with some girls in my class last week! Yum!IMG_8023
  4. 10-15-20 Barbell Workout: I have been combining this little circuit with some cardio at the gym and find it really gets my heart pumping and my arms tired! (I know, I’m so technical with the fitness terms) I use 20 and 30 pound fixed-weight barbells. (I use 20 pounds for the “arm” moves and the 30 pounds for the lunges.) It’s a little bit of everything and is simple, which is right up my alley. Heading to the weights section of the gym can be intimidating for me, so I like going in with at least somewhat of a plan to avoid the “lost” look. I know some of you can totally relate, right? (This is the part where you nod and agree to make me feel better about myself.)

Well, there you have it. I feel like I say this every Friday, but I am just so ready for some relaxation this weekend. Also some time to get the apartment straightened up. A clean house makes for a relaxed Caitlin.

    1. Thanks! Having somewhat of a plan when I go to the gym is definitely helpful in the motivation department.
